"The Ten Commandments"

We had such great success with our program last year we are following the model once again.

Adventure Club is a Christ-Centered program of our church designed for children from Preschool (age 3) to 5th grade to teach them what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.  The journey we take in following Christ is always an adventure and each Wednesday night we will celebrate this adventure.

Ages: Kindergarten to 5th grade

Weekly Sign-in: 6:15-6:30 PM (All students must sign-in and will be given a wristband for the night)

Time: 6:30 to 8 PM (Please do not drop your child off earlier than 6:15 unless he/she is eating supper and then please pick him/her up promptly at 8 PM) 

Please Join us: Each week we will begin with a worship experience and lesson for the first 25 minutes and we would invite you (parents and friends) to join us for those first few moments. (6:30-6:55 in the sanctuary) 

The Changes:

Monthly Structure: We are centering our program on a monthly cycle and only teaching one central concept the entire month (e.g. we will spend one entire month on “Honor your father and mother”).

· Wednesdays 1 & 2 we will have our weekly structure (listed below)

· Wednesday 3 - Active involvement in following Christ - often off campus - this is where we will put our concept into action for Christ. (e.g. we will go and feed the hungry)

· Wednesday 4 - Celebration night - a time to celebrate what was done for Christ, General Store open 

Weekly Structure (Weeks 1 and 2 of each month)

6:30-6:55 Worship Experience - music and lesson, parents encouraged to attend

7:00-7:30 Discovery Group Options (each child can choose what he/she participates in - choices will be made at time of sign-in each week.)

7:35-7:55 Individual Small groups (learning to pray together and share together)

7:55-8:00 Wrap up and go home

 Wristbands: Every Wednesday night after the student signs in he/she will be given a wristband which will include the night’s memory verse, information on upcoming activities, and discovery center choice.  It is your responsibility to read the wristband once your child gets home to stay informed. Students cannot participate without a wristband. 

Discovery Center Options: When your student signs in each Wednesday he/she will get to choose a Discover Center to attend that night.  The choices will be - Music and Memory, Crafts, or Games.  The wristband will be marked with his/her choice and he/she must attend that discovery center that night.  Next week your child has the option to choose a different center if he/she wishes. 

Small Groups: Each child will be assigned an appropriate small group (of 5-6 children) for the entire year.  They will remain with their small group and adult leader for most of the night (except for discovery center time).  We do encourage the small group leaders to hold activities (outside of Wednesday nights) for their group (sledding party, pizza nights…).  You will be notified when your child’s small group will be engaging in an outside activity.
